During Cycle 24 hrs a day (On-Call Medic)
Provides acute care and outpatient services to the soldiers attending the US Army Ranger School and the cadre members who train them for the 6th Ranger Training Battalion. Ranger school is broken up into three phase. Each phase is approximately 21 days long. The initial phase is in Fort Moore, Georgia. The next phase is the mountain phase and taught in Dahlonega, Georgia and is supported by TMC #11. The final phase of Ranger School is in Camp Rudder, Eglin AFB, Florida. It is called “the Swamp Phase”. TMC #8 supports all operations and provides healthcare to any sick and injured student or instructors (if needed). Routine care and physicals are provided by appointment with their Primary Care Provider at 96th Medical Group, while acute or emergent care is provided on an open access walk-in basis at TMC #12. Emergencies the exceed TMC #8s capabilities are referred to emergency services at local hospitals (96th Medical Group at Eglin AFB or Fort Walton Beach Medical Center) on a “case by case” basis.
