Walk-in Contraceptive Clinic
Get all your contraceptive care in one place: the Martin Army Community Hospital walk-in contraceptive clinic.
All beneficiaries are eligible for care and counseling at walk-in contraceptive clinics and can receive education on safe sexual practices, contraceptives, and STI prevention and treatment.
The clinic is open every Wednesday, 8 a.m. - noon, and is located in the Women's Health Clinic, fifth floor of the hospital.
Services Offered
We offer the following products and services:
- Contraceptive counseling
- Prescription of short-acting contraception (pills, patch, ring, Depo-Provera injection, etc.)
- Placement or removal of long-acting contraception (IUD, Nexplanon)
Any permanent forms of contraception (tubal ligation and vasectomy preoperative evaluations) will require a follow-on appointment.
How it Works
Active duty service members are encouraged to utilize the “Decide and Be Ready” app to research methods of contraception before arriving to the clinic.
Decide + Be Ready This app explains the basics of different methods of contraception, including effectiveness, how it is used, and side effects. Additionally, the app offers a section on considerations for service women with information on menstrual management and how deployment may affect different forms of birth control.
No appointment necessary. Come to the fifth floor and follow the signs to the Walk-In Contraceptive Clinic before 11 a.m. on Thursday and present your ID card. Space may be limited due to capacity constraints, patients will be seen on a first come, first serve basis. Patients will complete a urine pregnancy test, will then receive education/counseling on all available short-acting, long-acting, reversible, and permanent forms of contraception.
