DoD retires DS Logon for myAuth; TRICARE beneficiaries have until Sept. 30 to switch.

FORT BENNING, Ga. -- The Department of Defense is phasing out DS Logon, the login credential millions of TRICARE beneficiaries use to access health and benefits websites, in favor of a new platform called myAuth. Martin Army Community Hospital beneficiaries who use DS Logon to manage their TRICARE benefits should start switching now, before the credential stops working Sept. 30.

The change affects any TRICARE-critical system tied to a beneficiary's care or claims, according to Defense Health Agency guidance. Systems including Express Scripts/Evernorth, United Concordia (the TRICARE Dental Program), Humana, TriWest, International SOS and WPS are scheduled to complete their transition to myAuth by September. The MHS GENESIS Patient Portal, the DoD's electronic health record portal, begins its transition to myAuth on Sept. 16. Beneficiaries will keep using their DS Logon username and password to reach the patient portal until that date.

The Defense Manpower Data Center, not TRICARE or MACH, owns the technical rollout. DHA's role is limited to keeping beneficiaries informed and pointing them to the right help resources.
"During the transition period, you'll continue to use your DS Logon credentials for applications that haven't yet transitioned to myAuth," according to DHA's official messaging on the change. Beneficiaries won't need to do anything for systems that haven't switched over yet, but they should not wait until the Sept. 30 deadline to act on the ones that have.

DHA officials say myAuth brings modern multi-factor authentication and is designed to work the same way across every DoD platform for beneficiary logins, replacing a patchwork of separate DS Logon credentials with one consistent process.

Beneficiaries can take a few steps now to avoid a lapse in access:
  • Update contact information in DEERS so important transition notices reach you.
  • Watch for official communications from DoD and DHA about which systems have moved to myAuth.
  • Follow the instructions in those notices to keep access to accounts, including the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal.
Anyone who runs into trouble logging in after a system transition should contact DMDC directly, not TRICARE or MACH, since DMDC manages myAuth and DS Logon. DMDC has set up a dedicated line for the transition at 800-477-8227.

Beneficiaries can also visit the myAuth information page for FAQs and account help: https://tricare.mil/GettingCare/VirtualHealth/SecurePatientPortal/SecureLogin/myAuth

Martin Army Community Hospital will continue to share updates on the myAuth transition as DHA and DMDC release them.
